Personal accident insurance (PAI) pays benefits to both you and your beneficiaries in the event you are permanently and totally disabled. If a covered accident results in your total and permanent disability, you receive 100% of your coverage amount. The maximum amount payable for any one accident is 100% of your coverage amount. If you die in a covered accident, your beneficiaries receive 100% of your coverage amount as a death benefit.
PAI includes additional benefits that give concrete situational assistance to your survivors. The spouse tuition reimbursement benefit of PAI helps your spouse transition back into the workplace by covering the cost of job training programs, up to $5,000 over two years, and the child day care benefit covers day care expenses for children under age 7 if you or your spouse die in a covered accident. The child tuition reimbursement benefit helps your older children pay college, university, or trade school tuition.
