Your Open Enrollment Ally During Difficult Times

Written by TMA Insurance Trust Team | Oct 16, 2021 12:00:00 PM

When Open Enrollment begins, you will have access to special health insurance options that may help you secure better coverage for yourself and those in your practice. These options are the best kept secret in the insurance industry. TMA Insurance Trust is here to make sure you know, have access to, and can benefit from these limited time options. We’re also here to help in every step of the enrollment process. We diligently make sure you have the support and information you need to make informed decisions, and our goal is to make the process as easy and stress-free as possible.

Why We Care

At TMA Insurance Trust, we are acutely aware of the challenges Texas physicians are facing as we near the date for Open Enrollment to begin. Many physicians have lost revenue, been forced to reduce staff and have struggled to remain financially viable as the pandemic continues. If this has been your experience, the thought of securing health insurance for yourself, your family, and your employees may seem personally and financially overwhelming. But now more than ever, having competitively priced, comprehensive coverage options for yourself and for those in your practice is vital. Whether you’re looking to renew or searching for a new plan, finding the best insurance for you and your practice usually requires extensive research and analysis.

What We Do For You

Not only do we inform you of special options other insurance agencies are not aware of or are reluctant to disclose, TMA Insurance Trust supports your practice by taking on many of the administrative tasks that come with securing and maintaining a group health insurance plan. We understand and truly believe that your time is better spent caring for patients and running your practice.

Your personal TMA Insurance Trust advisor will help by:

  • thoroughly examining and comparing plans for you
  • presenting you with the best options based on your information and needs
  • enrolling your staff and dependents
  • distributing temporary ID cards and policy information
  • managing employee updates throughout the year
  • assisting with billing questions
  • advocating for you if customer service issues arise throughout the year

These added services are provided at no extra cost to you or your practice. We consider it a privilege to represent the interests of our members and work with insurance companies on their behalf, making sure they get the best possible coverage. We make our health insurance expertise accessible for all Texas physicians. We want all physicians to feel confident they are making the best decisions to protect their health, their financial security and their livelihood. We’ll take care of you so you can take care of others.

Know Your Options

There are two special group waivers available that have the potential to make better, more expansive coverage affordable to you and your practice.

  • Participation Waiver: Utilizing this waiver means that you no longer have to cover 75% of your staff to qualify for group coverage. There’s no minimum number of employees in order to enroll as a group. It may make the flexibility, convenience and superior coverage of a PPO plan within reach for you and your family, and those who work for you. Solo practitioners and small business practice owners who have a Tax ID number and at least one full-time employee (besides yourself) may qualify for this waiver.
  • Contribution Waiver: Practice owners no longer need to pay at least 50% of the employee premiums in order to qualify for group coverage. They have the option to pay what they can afford, or less than 50%.

These waivers are available only for a short period of time, so the time to take advantage of these special health insurance options is now.

If you are preparing to open your own practice, TMA Insurance Trust can help you start your own group plan. Open Enrollment is the best time to get your plan in place. These special waivers give you more options and may help you secure coverage you prefer for yourself and everyone in your practice.
