Medicare Choices: You’re Not Alone

For Texas physicians, life is complicated enough. When it’s time to make Medicare decisions, we want to help simplify your life. And we want to offer our assistance at no cost to you.

Navigating Medicare Complexities

Sometimes it seems that the more you read about Medicare, the less sense makes. A busy physician may feel frustrated in short order. Here are some contributing factors that you may have experienced if you’ve begun to do research on Medicare options:

  • A mountain of information: As a 65th birthday approaches, a person is often inundated with Medicare Supplement advertising. It seems as though every Medicare Supplement plan will send a flier or letter.
  • A lack of relevant information: Upon reading this stack of cards, flyers, and letters, you get one message loud and clear: these companies want your business. However, you may not find relevant information that pertains to your personal situation.
  • Many “enrollment periods”: There are six different times for Medicare action that include “enrollment” in the title. These include the Initial Enrollment Period, General Enrollment Period, and Open Enrollment Period. But there are also several special enrollment periods: times when one can take action outside of other enrollment periods. (This does not include the enrollment periods for Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans!)
  • Inefficient communication: The Social Security Administration is in charge of Medicare enrollment… and dozens of other matters. Access to a person who can help you can be difficult and time-consuming. The SSA has only one telephone number, but busy signals and long wait times don’t work well for busy physicians.

Why DIY When You Have Assistance?

Of course, you can do this research yourself, but it is a time-consuming process, with considerations that don’t always make sense. Why take the burden on your shoulders, when you have a trustworthy, cost-free advocate to call upon? Since 1955, TMA Insurance Trust’s primary mission is to help physicians in Texas make smart insurance choices, including Medicare decisions.

A Trusted Partner at Your Side

Our advisors can have decades of experience in working with Medicare Supplement and Part D insurance. We can take out the learning curve and offer you simple, tailored solutions. Wouldn’t you like to save hours of research, compiling information and comparing plans and options?

We want to save you the cost of making the wrong choices as well. For example, if you make a prescription coverage choice based on deductible and copay costs, you may be missing an underlying expense: coinsurance costs for your tiered prescription medications. Because our seasoned advisors understand the minutiae, you can trust that we can help you make an informed Part D plan decision.

We truly appreciate all you do for the good of your community and want to offer the very best service to you when you need it. Contact us for the guidance and support that are always cost-free to Texas physicians, your family members, and practice staff.

Call us toll-free at 1-800-880-8181 Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 5:30 CST, or visit us online at tmait.org.
