Protecting What Matters Most

Our Specialists Reveal Hidden PPO Health Insurance Options

Open Enrollment is here – time to think about whether to renew or choose a new health plan for yourself or your practice.

But choosing a health plan may not be so easy. There are many factors to consider – like cost, deductibles, plan features and restrictions, even the level of service you receive from your agent. On top of that, health insurance today is complicated. Trying to get a handle on all the regulations in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) can be time-consuming and exhausting.

So what if you had help from a health insurance specialist? Someone who could find “hidden” opportunities in the complex regulations?

For example, what if they found an option that could help small practice owners qualify for group PPO health insurance just for themselves and their family?

Get a PPO Plan as a Group of One

TMA Insurance Trust is a healthcare specialist. It’s our job to do the research and the legwork – so you don’t have to. And through our research we’ve uncovered little-known waivers to ACA regulations that may help small practice owners qualify for PPO health insurance as a “Group of One.”

To qualify you would need to have a tax ID number and one employee besides yourself paid under that number. And you’ll need to offer the coverage to them, though you’ll still be eligible if they choose not to take it. Partnerships and LLC’s filing as a partnership with no employees may be eligible too. If you and your spouse have an LLC or establish an LLC, you may also be eligible for this coverage. You’ll just need partnership documentation and the company’s Schedule K-1 (Form 1065).

A Plan to Attract Employees

The waivers may also make it easier for practice owners to offer PPO health insurance to their staff members – while still controlling costs to the practice. It’s worth noting that in today’s competitive job market, a comprehensive benefits package can be attractive to current and prospective employees.

Our specialists will be happy to provide further details to see if the waivers apply to your situation. But please note, this option is only available during Open Enrollment, which ends December 15th.

Shop With Less Stress

We can provide other ACA-compliant health insurance options that may work for you as well. We’ll review premium rates, deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, networks, prescription drug coverage and other important plan features so you can make your best decisions. We’re here to help take the stress out of shopping for a health plan.

We Help With Administrative Tasks Too

Once you select a plan, we’ll continue to help with many administrative tasks that might otherwise be a burden to you or your office manager.

We’ll do our best to ensure that everyone in your practice receives their identification cards and policy booklets by the effective date and that premium statements are received and paid in a timely manner.
