How You Can Help Protect Your Practice and Save Thousands

As a practice owner, you are acutely aware of the many considerations that are involved in successfully running your practice. You know the things that make your practice unique, that make it your own. You also know well the extraordinary amount of expenses that you need to cover every month ... the many thousands of dollars that it takes to keep your practice operating. What would happen to your practice if you became sick or were injured and unable to work for an extended period of time?

Help Protect your Practice and Save

Because we appreciate the hard work and sacrifice of Texas practice owners, we are offering the TMA Member Business Overhead Expense (BOE) Plan. This plan will help pay the overhead expenses for your practice while you focus on recovering.

The truth is, personal disability insurance is not designed to care for the financial needs of your practice during a sustained illness or injury; it is designed to provide the funds to keep your household running. You also wouldn’t want to pull from your savings or retirement accounts to meet the financial needs of your practice. BOE insurance is specifically designed to provide the capital needed to help keep your practice operating while you recover and can get back to work.

Help Protect Your Practice with BOE

The benefits from your Business Overhead Expense Insurance can be used to help cover the many expenses your practice will incur while you are recovering:

  • providing for a locum tenens physician,
  • lease or mortgage payments,
  • employee salaries,
  • payroll taxes,
  • utilities,
  • office supplies and equipment,
  • maintenance services,
  • loan payments,
  • property taxes,
  • and more.

This coverage can be crucial in helping to keep your practice viable for the people who depend on it: your family, your patients and your employees. BOE insurance helps to protect your achievements, and helps to maintain your professional standing in the community as well as the momentum your practice has built.

Speak with Your Partners About This Coverage

TMA Insurance Trust recommends that if you are in practice with partners, each should have their own business overhead insurance to cover their portion of the practice's operating expenses. That way, the practice can be more completely protected. In the event one of you could not work for an extended period of time, it would help cover their expenses, prevent serious financial loss and help keep the practice running smoothly.
