Special Options for Open Enrollment
Two limited time waivers are available this Open Enrollment that could potentially help you secure better group coverage and help control premium costs.
The first is a participation waiver. With this waiver, you no longer have to cover at least 75% of your staff to have access to group PPO health insurance coverage. You only need to make coverage available, there’s no minimum number of employees required to qualify as a group. This could allow you to access more flexible, comprehensive group PPO coverage--even just for yourself--and possibly at a lower cost than individual HMO coverage.
The second limited time, special option is the contribution waiver. Instead of having to cover 50% of your employees’ premiums in order to qualify for group coverage, this waiver gives practice owners the option to pay what the practice can afford--or nothing at all.

These waivers are only available for a limited time. All enrollment documents and paperwork must be completed and submitted by December 15, 2021 in order to implement coverage by January 1, 2022.
