The Clock is Ticking to Make Health Insurance Choices

Oct 27, 2018 7:00:00 AM

Health Insurance Open Enrollment has begun and is only open for a brief time: until December 15. Now is the time for Texas physicians to make important health insurance decisions for themselves, their families, and any of their practice staff. TMA Insurance Trust advisors are ready to help you find the right group coverage and assist you with health insurance enrollment before the deadline.

Health Insurance Without the Hassle

Because the health insurance marketplace is continually changing, navigating group insurance options can be time-consuming - even overwhelming. By working with a TMA Insurance Trust advisor, you’ll have trustworthy assistance in choosing options that work for your practice’s needs.

Small Practice Owners May Be Eligible for a Group PPO Option

Many physicians prefer the flexibility, convenience and coverage of a PPO plan; but in Texas, PPOs are only available to the group market. The good news is that with the help of a TMA Insurance Trust advisor, you may be able to enroll in a “group of one” PPO health insurance plan to cover yourself and your family. This provision is only available to business owners who have a Tax ID number and at least one full-time employee on payroll. If you do not have a tax ID we can still help you with HMO options.

Options to Control Your Practice's Health Insurance Costs

If you provide group coverage to your employees or would like to explore the possibility of doing so, now is the time to begin the process so you have a plan in place by January 1, 2019. Our team of advisors will help you explore the options available, including special waivers that may be available to you so you can control costs - and may make PPO coverage available to your medical staff with no contribution from your practice. To qualify for the waivers, you must have a Tax ID number and at least one full-time employee on payroll. Let us help you compare the options and develop a suitable plan for your practice.
