The TMA Member Long Term Disability Insurance Plan

A Straightforward Application Process

  • No Tax Returns Required: Unlike other carriers, we never require you to provide your tax returns when applying.
  • No Income Verification: Apply for up to $5,000 per month with no income questions.
  • Higher Benefit & Less Hassle: Apply for up to $18,000 per month with a simplified application and TMA member pricing.

Core Coverage Features

  • Own-Specialty Coverage: Receive benefits if you cannot perform the duties specific to your medical specialty. Benefits continue as long as you are disabled or until you reach Social Security retirement age.
  • Partial/Residual Benefits: If a covered illness or injury reduces your income by 20% or more, you can collect benefits even while working part-time during recovery.
  • No Offsets: Your benefits are paid regardless of other insurance payouts, including Worker’s Comp, Social Security, or sick leave.
  • Catastrophic Coverage: Your benefit automatically increases by 20% if you cannot perform two or more "Activities of Daily Living."
  • Future Increase Option: If you secure coverage before age 40, you can increase your benefit as your career grows (up to age 45) without further medical or financial underwriting.
  • Student Loan Reimbursement: Members 40 and under can add 25% to their benefits (up to $250,000) specifically to keep student loan payments current during a disability.
